10:45 this morning at Enterprise 2.0 - Virtual Teams 2.0, 3.0, 4... - where we talk about what virtual teams mean to the fully collaborative enterprise now and in the future.

And at noon, I, along with other members of the Enterprise 2.0 Advisory Board, will lead the Town Hall wrap-up session. If it's half as lively as last year's Town Hall, which I facilitated with Stowe Boyd, it will be a lot of fun. One off-limits topic: wireless problems at the hotel. This is a topic for discussion long-term around conference facilities but meanwhile if we piled up all the complaints lodged with the hotel and the faultless conference organizers, we'd be able to climb out to the space station. Got it? :)))) Constructive comments, learning, insight, and suggestions for next year, welcome!

Had an excellent conversation today at the Work Green, Work Virtually session at Enterprise 2.0. Slides will be posted. Used the stream of posts beginning here, continuing at The Content Economy, and then on to the flowchart from Michael Sampson as per below. We were joined by John Shea, a sport diver, who happens to be working for the company providing media services to the event. John has seen the death of coral reefs around the world, which he told me while we were setting up, so we asked him to say a few words. His contribution plus that of folks from Vanderbilt University, Canada, Washington, DC, and a few other places that I can't remember at the moment made for an unusually deep conversation. Thanks everyone. We collectively need to keep building lots of lookouts for this topic.

Thanks to all attending blogging session today

Very spirited session on "What blogging brings to business" today at Enterprise 2.0. Thanks to my fellow panelists, Bill Ives, Patti Anklam, Cesar Brea, and Doug Cornelius, for putting up with me - and to the overflow crowd, particularly to those who volunteered to sit on the floor in front. That so many showed up for this session indicates the interest in blogging. As several said today, it's really not about the blog. It's about the communication and connection blogs make possible. My only regret: something is wrong with my camera - so those great pictures of all of you waving (thanks for that) are too blurry to post here. But I won't forget your enthusiastic compliance.

The conference is high energy and jam packed. Another indicator of interest in this topic - even when travel is difficult and costly.

Bloggers at Taste

If any Newton locals were at Taste yesterday morning, that noisy group in the window was us, five bloggers plotting "What blogging brings to business," our panel this coming Tuesday, 2:15 PM, at Enterprise 2.0. Five = Bill Ives, Patti Anklam, Doug Cornelius, Cesar Brea et moi. Here's the plan:

1. We introduce ourselves: name, blog name, number of years slaving away at blogging, and profession (er, blogger?)

2. You introduce yourselves: name, blog name, profession/org affiliation

3. Instead of the obligatory panelist-by-panelist drone, we converse:

• Who do you blog for?
• What value has come to you from blogging?
• What topics are off-limits; which do you avoid?
• What's been your most popular post?
• Has blogging improved your writing?

4. We do pop quizzes. If you can think of any good questions, please comment.

Four fabulous bloggers plus me as moderator are coming together at Enterprise 2.0 to talk about the fine points of blogging and what it can bring to business. With a combined blogging history of 400 years (ooops, I mean 19, fingers got away from me), we'll be talking about "What blogging brings to business:" Blogging as knowledge management, Blogging as a conversation, Blogging for "fame and fortune", Blogging as a platform for experimentation, and Blogging to reduce internal spam.
